The Tony Riso Company was founded by Anthony Riso after a distinguished
career with the original Cavitron™ Company, followed by further success with the
Cavitron division of the Dentsply™ Company, its acquirer.
While Tony has retired, the owner since 2005, Magnificent Medical Equipment, Inc.,
a U.S.-Veteran owned company, continues to provide new equipment, accessories and
the highest quality service in magnetostrictive ultrasonics, still the best technology
available.
The first ultrasonics in widespread use in dentistry was the magnetostrictive
devices originally introduced in the mid 1960’s. Since its founding in 1974,
the Tony Riso Company has been providing magnetostrictive equipment to the Dental,
Dental Hygiene and Veterinary professions.
The original ultrasonic devices were 25,000 cycles/second, abbreviated as 25K.
In the 1970’s 30K scalers and inserts were introduced, based on the same
technology. The Laws of Physics dictate that the 25K inserts have a longer stroke
than the 30K inserts. Both create figure of eight patterns in their excursions.
Over the last 25 years the Tony Riso Company has introduced many ultrasonic
innovations.

These include the Titanium Implant Scaler (TIS), the Model 25/30
multifunction scaler unit, version-2, the 100 perio set with spring steel
nozzle, the 1000 Xtra-Thin™, the P-N2 series of multi-curved inserts
and other specialty ultrasonic products.
In 2007, Magnificent Medical Equipment, Inc., acquired the SoftDentalGrips.com
company. SoftDentalGrips are a response to conditions afflicting Dentists, Dental
Hygienists and others who, in their workday, tightly grip thin instruments and
perform repetitive hand, wrist and forearm motions, resulting in discomfort and
disease in those areas.
We manufacture, sell and service high quality inserts and scaler units. We can repair and
recondition your existing apparatus to the highest standards or supply you with
new equipment. We specialize in perio and perioscopy inserts for subgingival
therapy.
All of our non-disposable products and as many of our components as possible,
are manufactured in the United States. The Tony Riso Company supports American
industry, jobs and the economy.
